that's a dumb reason and a waste of time
playing to get good for tournaments, to play with friends as simply a game cuz fun, etc is what dota was to me and what hon is to me, and that's how they both are
there was no stat tracking in dota and it is probably seriously the game that i have ever had most fun in
used to play that shit from after school until bed time every week

again you have to view it at s2's view point, adding stats creates addiction / competition = more playing

but does it really?
there are soooooo many people i know of who have stopped playing and find no enjoyment to the actual game, but only from the numbers on their account page
when someone hits 1900, are they going to continue playing and risk dropping back to mid 1800s?
if they're a stat whore, no, they'll retire and buy a smurf or something

edit: though i must add that you have to be competent yourself
my friend is trapped in 1600s because i've seen him play and he has to periodically look down at his keyboard to find keys, has all 4 fingers of his left hand positioned over QWER when he plays, has horrible mouse control, is slow at analyzing situations, etc

but yeah, if you're someone who is generally good at games hon is pretty eZ once you learn the general playstyle smack laid out to succeed solo


Seems I can't? Where do you see me failing to admit that I have faults? I know I'm not a top tier player and nor have I even attempted to come across as one. Nice try though.

since you're trapped in 1600s you can be a bit more modest than you are about your actual skill
