i think the single player games have good communities

civilization and heroes of might and magic

(though both of these games have multiplayer options)

heroes of might and magic 3 omg my favorite childhood game i think
gonna go play it now cuz i'm still a child and gonna fail school so might as well go back to elementary school

i've never actually played homm online but it's awesome for sp/lan,
homm 3 completed with what are the expansions called, armageddons blade and shadow of death are awesome ^^

and speaking of great single player games, might and magic 7 ( yes might and magic not heroes might and magic ) probably one of my favorite games of all time,

homm 3 did kick ass

sadly they aren't making that version better of 3, they just made shitty gimped versions

homm 3 had 9 races, and the newest one, homm 6, which comes out in october has 5 races

homm 3 had a 15x11 hex grid for battles, homm 6 is 12x10 square grid

homm 3 had 4 special resources (gems, crystal, sulfur, mercury), homm 6 only has one (crystal)

i played the demo, definitely not worth shelling out $50
