is that why you hand out infractions using a default response PM rather than trying to explain to people what they did wrong, and how not to make the same mistake again?
My PMs may look like default responses only because people violate forum rules in very similar way.
Most people get infracted for insulting others for example. There is not a lot I can tell them aside from "Please refrain from insulting other forum members". People who break the rules either do so deliberately or because they simply do not know the rules yet.
I can not do a lot for the former, because only they themselves can choose not to purposefully break the rules again.
When one of the latter PMs me asking me why what he did was wrong or where to find the forum rules, I go to great lenghts to help them in any way I can. People who honestly regret what they did and show that they had no bad intentions generally have their infractions reversed right away.
