On February 4th, 2004 Kenneth was born. That day marked the birth of the greatest collector of them all. At age 2, Kenneth spoke his first word “Shako”. At age 3 he was asked what he would like for his birthday present, and he responded by asking for a Shako. Kenneth’s parents were a bit confused at this proclamation, so they asked him what a shako was. Kenneth responded by telling them it was a green cap that was imbued with unique magical properties, and that it can be obtained from killing a man named Mephisto.
Kenneth’s parents were alarmed by the statements made by their son, but they decided to look for the man named Mephisto. They found Mephisto at the edge of the river Durance and when they approached him he shouted “My brothers have escaped you!” And then a great white shark exploded from the river and tore Mephisto to shreds. Kenneth’s parents were terrified and they ran to Mephisto’s side. As they approached the body, it vanished. But left behind was a green cap floating where the body once was. Kenneth’s parents quickly retrieved the cap and went home.
Kenneth’s parents gave their son this cap on his birthday, and Kenneth asked them to look away after he was handed the cap. So they did, but when they looked back at Kenneth, the cap was nowhere in sight. The very next day Kenneth asked his parents to find him another Shako, and he asked them to go back to the Durance.
Kenneth’s parents obliged and went back to the Durance. Once there they saw him again, the man named Mephisto. They were confused, but their confusion only lasted a split second, as Mephisto shouted “My brothers have escaped you!” and attacked them. Kenneth’s parents had to defend themselves and they killed Mephisto. Strangely the body of Mephisto vanished yet again, but left behind was another green cap. They retrieved the cap and went home.
When Kenneth’s parents came home, they gave their son the cap. Kenneth once again asked for them to look away, and they did. When Kenneth’s parents looked back the cap was nowhere to be seen. It was then that Kenneth asked his parents to get him a shako each new day. Kenneth’s parents agreed, and with each passing day they found Kenneth another Shako, and every time they gave Kenneth the cap it would never be seen again.
4 years later, Kenneth was injured in an accident. A hammer had fallen on Kenneth’s head and he had to be hospitalized. On his deathbed, Kenneth asked his parents to get him 23 Shakos all at once. Kenneth’s parents asked Kenneth “What are you doing with all of those Shakos?” Kenneth told them that he would tell them his secret after he had received his 23 Shakos . So Kenneth’s parents went to get 23 Shakos.
When Kenneth’s parents came back, their son was elated at the sight of so many Shakos. They gave them all to him and he said “Please look away, and when you look back I will tell you what I have been doing with all of those Shakos.” So his parents looked away yet again, and when they looked back all of the Shakos had vanished and they saw that Kenneth had died.
