You would do better DPS with shieldbreaker/shrunken/savage mac, besides you will still die fairly easy.
However, I still think you should get geometers but I don't know what would be the best item after that, any thoughts?

flints early-mid game has gotten quite a bit nerfed yes, but late late late game he will hit extremely hard lol.
but like you said, there are better melee carries for that if you come that late into the game.

flint vs melee carries is fun though if you have frostwolf/geo/savage mace/riftshards lol and theyre pushing, u can stand so far back and just autoattack the cr*p out of them

flint will always be the best ranged carry in the game. people just don't understand that you should play him kind of like dark lady or magebane. he's not about ganking or pushing, he's about maximizing gpm until you have lots of core items for late game

just lost a match where they were lucky as hell EVERY teamfight -.-.
all 5 got away with less then 300 hp in like 2-3 teamfights in a row, after that they had too big of an advantage (they genocided twice).
