Stats are just ridiculous in HoN. I had some guy claiming he was much better than anyone guy because he had 1.51:1 KD ratio instead of the other guy's 1.3:1 or something. They both had 51% winrate and were playing 1600s.
Most people just don't understand that they're ass at this game. They watch a few pros play, learn a few heroes and item builds, play a few hundred games, and then think they're good and deserve to be in higher brackets. Overall, that's just not true. It's not even about how much time you spend on the game, it's about your attitude and how you apply yourself ingame. So many people have 2000+ games and still suck. The first step to getting better is to stop thinking you are "cursed" or that you only get noob teams. Stop thinking you're playing amazing and others are the reason for your failure. If you're not 1800+, you simply aren't good at the game. Even then, lots of 1800+ players are bad. Start looking at your own mistakes instead of having some huge ego despite being a 1500 player. Some games you will lose because you have a complete troll, a leaver, or just totally out drafted. But MOST of your losses are in some way your fault. If you played better, most of those losses wouldn't happen. Watch the replay and see what shit you do wrong, you'll be amazed how many mistakes you make.
I make progress winning games and I cognitively recognize mistakes I make and how to fix them. It just seems like a grind that takes a really long time. Ill win a game I played well then ill lose two trolls games or whatever and it just really gets to me when there's nothing I can do about it. I don't think I'm perfect or amazing but I know I at least have a winning attitude and I don't act like a child throwing tantrums like so many allies of mine do. It just gets tiring feeling like any progress I make through hard effort and patience can be wiped by a streak of dcs and whiners
