Thanks folks. Seems like melee are the way to go? I suck with dev, not gonna bother with him. Might try to get better with Pebbles and Fayde.

Not about melee or ranged. It's about what's good and what isn't. It just so happens that BH is good because of his Feast. Pebbles because he gets his early combo, and ganks easily. Hag is also good, so is SS. Devo is also good because of his ganking potential.

devo is good because one of his skills gives you the ability to fucking eat faces off

i find devo one of the hardest heroes to play
imo get someone you can comfortably last hit with, should be number one priority
try to miss as little creeps as possible
a lot of people focus on harassment, but you get about ~380 gpm with perfect last hitting

a big mistake i see a lot of kids do is over harass, which is when they put their focus solely on harassing
like having 7 creep kills at 5 minutes is about 280 gold for you, while the enemy pebbles with 30 creep kills has earned about 1200 and has his bottle and boots and can come step on your face whenever he wants to

obv harass is very good if you can make it lead to a kill or cause pressure to reduce their creep killing, but take your time finding that balance and work on farming imo
heroes that can do both are, i think, best to start with

witch slayer (line up graveyards to kill 2-3 creeps when you toss it, throw few hits at enemy when you do
pyro (line enemy up with wave)
defiler (same deal)

melee heroes can be strong tho, but you need to have good spacing and timing to walk up to get the last hits on time
you don't want to spend any more time at the creeps taking hits from enemy hero as you need to, and if he goes deep you can abuse ramp fog/just straight up meet him half way and stomp his face

devo is easy to play, hard to master
i'm bad at hooking and i can still shit on anyone up to 1800 ish mmr just by styling on them with rot

i find him hard to last hit with
if you can't kill mid i find farm becomes shit
my dev worse than me when i play vs a dev

as far as middle lane goes

another mistake i see people do, they go for denies and end up shortening the ck last hit window to very tight timing which causes many misses

whats the matter, y cant u picture pudge in ur head as you're last hitting loL
whats even betting than going mid as a pubstomp devo is laning with a slither bottom lane

yop the only time you're supposed to "power deny" at middle lane is when you either need room to chase or you got a teammate on their way to gank so you wont have to towerdive and risk dying to ports


also it sickens me how people run at runes at like 1:45 or 3:45 because you have your full bottle with 90% hp/mana
and they miss exp/gold from 3-5 creeps in order to guess a rune which is 50/50 they get and like a 1/5 it's something they need


always pisses me the fuck off when i'm playing ss
nuking creepwave versus a hag for example, he just blinks away with 20% hp 5% mana and runs for bot runes without boots stand there for 15 sec

and it spawns a regen
