polly fucking strong hero, especially in 2n2/3n3
get heroes with strong lane presence who dominate most other heroes in 1vs1. many disables and a strong pushing power is awesome.
dont get hard carries and get items which are strong early on (helm, tablet and such)

if it's on forests of caldavar, and you say you're a carry player like myself, picking a carry is what i would advise
puppet, soulstealer, magebane, anything, really, since you can't be ganked with only one hero per lane and a ward for each tower

if you're on grimm's crossing, you almost HAVE to get the rune every 2 minutes
pick a team that is fairly scary (valk is my favorite hero for grimm's, capable carry who can offer lots of gank potential, especially at long ranges, and with high mobility)
if you have something like myrmidon, magmus, and valk, you're almost guaranteed the rune every time (high mobility on all three, high nuke damage, four stuns)
at every (odd number):50 get all three to head toward rune, and if they're scared out of going for it, you win the game
if they go for it, you're guaranteed a genocide if nobody fucks up

3v3 is all about the picks
farming anything outside of the lane is pretty much out of the question

witch slayer, pebbles, etc, etc, all very strong
warding is also very important on grimm's crossing, and a scary team will allow you to full team counter-ward them every time they try to ward

lmk if you wanna play some 3s, it's been a while since i've played
or if you wanna grab your two friends and play vs me and two kids i'll get from my vent

Ugh 1 of my 2 friends is gone for the weekend so Idk. Thanks for those tips I really appreciate em. I gotta go in an hour but I'll be back tonight and will let you know if I'm down to play 3's.

this pretty much

calvadar = farm map. with good warding and map awareness you won't get ganked easily, especially not in 3v3

grimm's i never played so i don't know much about, but i'd say its much better to just get an early-mid lineup and dominate other team and push. only 2 towres to take down before rax, so it cant be that hard


as for calvadar, one of the ideal 3v3 lineups in my opinion would be

shortlane arachna/puppet
mid solo chipper/pyro/soulstealer (anything with good AoE nukes)
longlane solo tempest/plague rider

that way you have high range team with mass AoE and very dominant laning heroes in each lane. tempest/plague can easily buy wards for you and can handle the hard lane by denying enemy xp and farm while still last hitting themselves. also in teamfights a good plague/tempest ult will basically guarantee you a win

from the 3vs3's I've played it seems that strength heroes är the best, like pred and shit
