GPA boosting classes don't really boost your GPA if you don't show up to at least half the classes while paying attention to them, at least in my experience.
I know i'm not very motivated and i'm an under achiever, so I need two things to happen for me to do well in class. The teacher has to be really engaging in the material, or I have to really enjoy the readings for me to do well.
I took one class on China's urbanism. I couldn't give two shits about China, but I liked the professor. His lectures were always entertaining and he always had great anecdotes. I took a class on Social Problems, and how they are created. The professor what a pompous liberal douche, so I skipped half the classes. But some of the books were pretty interesting to me (Obesity, Pre K education, College Students getting the squeeze and socialized health care).
Not all music courses are bad. My school offered a pretty cool music class. I waited in it for the first two weeks to see if I could get in but not enough people dropped it, it was that good, I think it was in a 150+ seat room as well. The name escaped me but I think it was music of the world. The professor played all these obscure bands from all over the world. His presentation was very well done and the music clips he played were excellent. Some of my friends were in it, and they enjoyed it.
same shit here bro, no motivation like a lot of the tryhards in my classes HERP DERP I SPENT 60 HOURS STUDYING FOR THIS QUIZ WORTH 10% OF MY MARK LOLZ!!!!
for me it's more the course than anything
regardless of course difficulty, if i'm interested in it i'll be fine, but if the course is boring and prof sucks dick, then i'm fucked, but when it's arts and shit like all this music shit i have absolute zero interest in i'm fucked
like i had a prof who played sc2 and was a total fucking baller but i hated the shit out of his database course which wasn't difficult but was boring as hell and came out with a B+ cuz i studied 2 hours for his final worth 35% but my single variable calc prof in first year was a 90 year old indian man who was fucking hilarious but i couldn't understand anything he said and it seemed like he was slowly dying with each lecture so i stopped going and just learned shit online before going to midterm and final and came out with an A 2eznp thx 4 coins n mmr
too bad school is 95% boring dickless shit that makes me want to jump off a building
