1. personal preference, gives more mobility more surviveability a bit more lane presence imo
2. well hatchet is useless on madman shield i guess can be situational but imo it's not needed
3. ~170+ mana~ you manage mana with a power supply + chalice/bottle, passive farm with stalk, well if nothing is going on on lane ( during laning phase ) it's not rly nessecary to farm with stalk unless you're going to score a ck + harras them, and when you try kill them, well usually try to just play on their stupidity, like you sit on ~100~ mana you have chalice rdy / mana battery / both, they have ~70%~ hp you go in for a regular ck/harras combo and then you just pop the battery/chalice drop / save the barrel roll ( to dodge easily dodged spell for example pyro stun/andro stun/hammer stun )
update, if you're going to use barrel roll to dodge spell use as long range as you can on your barrel roll since it give you more invincible time and ofc try to get in position to drop barrel roll on both of them ( if you are going side lane )
4. well kinda explained how to use barrel roll in 3, stalk well if you're getting chased try to just run to safety ( and try to time it ) so right be4 your stalk run out you got a little "hiding place" in fog and there u usually gets time for another stalk repeat
