if you buy it, don't give up that easily since the better you become the more fun the game itself become

This is very true

well, you're already better than the majority of hon players
so many kids are terrible, yet aren't open to any advice/criticism whatsoever
so as long as you keep an open mind, you'll progress steadily

so is this

It's not so bad If you have some friends that can teach you in no stat games, you will be fine. 100% best game for the money you can buy.

The people are much like pubs in d2 though lots and lots of rage.

People will probably flame me for it.

But play League of Legends first. (You can go to their site and download it)

It's free, you'll get to learn on how an AoS map works...if you like it, then buy HoN.

HoN and LoL are nothing alike
i find LoL absolutely disgusting in comparison

LoL -> casuals
HoN -> competitive

depends if you're just playing for fun here and there 3

Well, I will admit that the differences between LoL and HoN would not be nearly as apparent for someone who never played DotA. But regardless, they are still quite different and I would only suggest starting with the one you want to play, otherwise you'll just learn bad habits that will be hard to break going from LoL -> HoN.

I run a casual clan for all skill levels, so if you decide you want to have a larger group of folks to play with, my clan is based on being polite and civilized. We have about 140 active members currently.

I've had 3 friends whom I've convinced to play HoN.
One quit because he got confused and couldn't tell what was going on (mostly during team fights).
Another quit because he lost most of the time (and hated losing), and didn't really have an open mind to improve.
The last quit because he could no longer take the rage & flame from other players. Although he was open minded and rapidly improving, playing the game would just make him depressed as the comments on his gameplay were always negative. He also got a girlfriend.

The game may seem okay on the surface, but the best feature is that the game goes down deep; the more you play, the more you will understand how the game works, the more you will win, the more you will enjoy the game, the more you will see why rts is forever better than rpg (actually some er-quite a lot of- people play 50 hours a week and still suck).

Meh, Tutorial is so fucking long, and pauses so much I've spent the better part of 2 days just attempting to get through it rofl.

Anyone know why the text at the bottom of the screen cuts off like 2 lines too early in most cases and you can only see the tops of the letters? I reduced my resolution one stage but it didn't seem to help.
