like barrier/nullstone or whatever

nullstone vs deadwood = gg

throw tree before ulti = counter to 5k item

Is codex a good idea?

I mean.

Say you go port key, marchers, bottle, codex level 1, and then shroud.

Would that be a good idea?

Because DW destroys with invis/blink

Or would you only go one or the other (PK, Shroud)

no, sometimes the cookie cutter build is used by everyone for a reason.

shieldbreaker is a mega pub item on him, sure it makes your ult do more damage but a Frostfield plate/Sheepstick is so much more useful, Dplate I guess is alright because of the aura, but don't get it for your damage; get it if you have a heavy phys dps team or your opponents are heavy phys dps, get a nullstone if they have a lot of single targetted spells, (Succubus, arachna, etc.) all are much better choices than shieldbreaker

Deadwood is insane early game char, and pretty decent late game too.

Imo go for somthing like:

1:Boots ( ghost marchers imo, for walking through creeps )
4:demonic breastplate ( for reaching a decent attack speed, ^^ )
2:portal key ( a must for every DW )
3:the splash weap ( the axe, cant remember name ) ^^ for decent dmg, splash, mana reg & life reg.
5:heart ( reg + insane life, good late game for all heros allmost )
6:mock ( insane for most strenght heros )

But it takes long, you can own with less to =D

runed axe and mock on deadwood? don't listen to this guy
