all i want it to be able to do is

#1 work properly
#2 open .flv files
#3 compress 1-4 gb files to less space while keeping pretty decent quality

im not pretty sure but you most likely have to use two different programs.
Flv can be opened in vegas, which works proberly you can compress it there as well.
But there a even better programs that will compress it even more onced your work on it, is completly finished.

well all i had planned was to compress a raw high quality .flv file
since i cant stream i'm recording into harddrive with high quality a 60 min recording is like 2-4gb and my upload speed suck so i need a program just to compress it while keeping good quality

atm i'm using CyberLink PowerDirector for editing ( but cant open .flv files for some reason )

well you should do the math like this, a proper edited/compressed 720p file should have around 35mb per 1minute of footage

Most of ISP's in world do not offer high upload, only if you want it, you buy it.
