Praying day & night is a good way to stay connected to God because doing so impacts your subconscious and keeps you close to God. U friends with Jesus, u get to meet God, then u got the holy spirit.. The holy trinity

Like if you're good with Jesus you get familiar with God and u are then filled with the Holy Spirit. I heard someone say that once and it stuck with me -- is this good way to look at it?

Yes, praying connects you to God -- doing so impacts your spirit. Subconscious is more of a secular term, unconscious a psychological one (terminology of the world). John 6:63 is a good verse to put into context Christianity's beliefs versus the world and its beliefs/terminology.
We are good with God because of Jesus. God also gives us over to Jesus and enables us with the Holy Spirit. The more you study God's Word, the more familiar you are with God, His will, etc. The more you pray, have fellowship with other believers, study scripture and theology, serve, the more you grow spiritually--it's a beautiful thing!

Great answer from Wizard. Just to add, I think it very important to understands God's will and word (as wiz mentioned) as it leads to effective prayer (according to God's will). Prayer is amazing and should not be neglected, but on the flip side it is just as important to read what God has revealed about himself, so you do not create and pray to an Idol, or God that you create in your mind. I did this for years before actually being saved and when I was saved and read the Bible, I realized I had God COMPLETELY wrong and was just trying to appease myself.

I'll pray for you, that you may know the one true living God who sent Jesus to die for us so he could rise again, defeating sin and death, now at the right hand of the Father, giving his Holy Spirit to all who believe into his name.
