I haven't been to Church in about 12 years except on Christmas day but in the meantime I've still maintained a firm belief in God. However, as I am getting older I find myself slipping into a state of non-belief, despite my thought processes and views being pretty much identical to years ago. The most troubling aspect of it all is that I don't know why I feel this way, and deep down I do want to believe.

Probably because you have no outlet where you can connect with God... religion without the religious experience.

why not try a different denomination? there is nothing that binds you to your current especially given you don't feel god is there.
