Well.. I'm currently an atheist... And to hopefully dissipate any potential misinterpretation, I haven't posted here in an attempt to invoke some form of militant atheistic platform to argue my stance or something... Contrarily, I earnestly would like to believe in God yet simply don't know how... With this being the case, I'm completely willing to be persuaded of His existence and that of an afterlife. So I've come here in hopes that I may find someone willing to convince me of such...

No one can "convince" you to believe in Him
The same way you can't convince a Christian to not believe in Him

A lot of life advice can be summed up as "act as if". Act as if there is a loving, personal God watching over you. Start reading the New Testament. Start the morning and end the night with talking to God, and asking Him to come into your life.

You could start by reading Lee Strobel's book, The Case For Christ. It's a compact intro to Christian apologetics.

Read the gospels and meditate on the words of Christ. Contemplate your existence and the existence of things as they are. Analyze the human predicament and accept the paradoxical. There is spiritual revelation for those that seek it.

your head is your own.
nobody can tell you what to believe.
You choose to.
If you want to believe then DO.
If you want proof you will not recieve any. That is the difference between knowing and believing.

However I am rather thinking that there is something that is holding you back to believe.
I think that you suffer from a great pain and you want something to give sense to that.
And that can be god. But it can also be a learning and attitude.
It can also be both.
(or for the christians: the latter because god told you so).

maybe some day you will believe ...
