Do you believe Jesus is God?
I had a conversation with a group of Jehovahs witnesses that say Jesus is not God, because how could he be both the son and the father. John 1:1 says "in [the] beginning was the Word, and the word was with god, and the word was God. No, says the Jehovahs witness, The word was "a" God. (The Lord Jesus is called the when the the thought is of him as the communicator.) They told me not to take John 1:1 literally, but they take other scriptures literally when Jesus speaks to Himself in the 3rd person in John 14:38"I go unto the Father: for my father is greater than I." I recognize this as God humbling himself in human form speaking in the 3rd person, or something along those lines (maybe I'm wrong). Which brings me to the point of the Trinity, as a born again Christian I don't see a problem with the Trinity, We recognize God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost, but what separates us I believe is the original subject (is Jesus God?)
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and all over the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth on this earth." In Isaiah 44:24 "Thus saith The Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed the from the womb, I am The Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;" Revelation 22:13 "I am Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end, the first and the last."
If The Lord Jesus is the Jehovah of the Old Testament, then the matter is settled.
I recognize that there will be a lot of belligerent comments but lets keep this as civil as possible and using Biblical references please

Jesus = God = Holy Spirit

They are one and three at once.

He is the holy trinity. The text refers to him as God incarnate which translates to "God in the flesh". He is the father, spirit, and son.

John 14:6: (New International Version)
"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

When arguing with some people about this, try using KJV bible where the verses are clear:

Hebrews 1 verse 7 & 8

God speaks of the son "As God"



7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.



Also 1 John 5:7

The King James Version (A. D. 1611) says at 1 John 5:7: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

And the word was Jesus because John clearly explains

God as the whole not really but as a part sure. To me god is literally everything and everyone.

1 God is an old guy with white beard who is all knowing
2 Jesus is his son
3 the holy spirit is a flame above your head, which you don't have (just look in the mirror)

now you are free to not believe me, just go on with your fantasies then
