We stand as a culture that feeds off of our idols, of which we make ourselves one. God had said do not worship your idols for they will fail you from time and time again; come to me for I will show you true strength, true wisdom, and ultimately freedom.
Freedom to be without chains and restraints for I have given my own son; for your brokenness, I have freed you. So stand by me and testify because we all have been saved, we just need to show those with fear of letting go their idols and those who think God will not save you. Remember, He chose the broken, not the rich and "valiant" for they stood for their own self-righteousness. Throughout the son of God's time, He ate, drank, and spent time with those who were eternally "damned" because He knew that He wanted them, most importantly You.
Something I thought of.
In light of my walk away from Jesus and God, I thought I was to feed my own path and put cobble to stone the walkway. Breaking friendships, manipulating people and betraying all words that were true, just to get success. I was told I was a Christian growing up; it isn't until now I understand that Christianity is not something you practice on Sunday or just breathe in for a benefit. It is a relationship with God and something you must strive for everyday. Lean in, give him time and praise, and I pray that I will always continue to strive in him for He saved me.
He Saved ME.
HE SAVED YOU.
Have you swallowed that?
There are three books I'm reading and I think you guys should too: Home Run: Learn God's Game Plan for Life and Leadership, Jesus > Religion: Why He Is So Much Better Than Trying Harder, Doing More, and Being Good Enough, and The Story NIV.
