Someone in my immediate family is considering divorce strongly. Im not sure if the husband is a believer or not. the wife has been around Christianity her whole life but has been deterred by poor representations of christian life.

They have been married only 3-4 years and for much of that time spent apart because he was in Afghanistan in the army.

Any advice on how to help? How to pray? What to do?

Prayers are appreciated. Thank you.

They keep playing the blame game and he did this she does that stuff. Its counterproductive and ive tried to say lets sit down and stop pointing fingers.
Its hard to get through to them.

What's more is that he lives across the united states from her now due to army.

I need you help. I need the Lord'sdiscernment and direction.

just pray for them both and lend a kind ear when in need..try not to be judgemental and let what is going to happen..happen

Most the time you never hear the whole story...Hope they both find the right path...Stay's out of it because cannot know the truth. If you trust them both you will be disapointed in one of them. OR believe the wrong one. Better off forgive in advance both of them.

you could try telling them things like: is worse to be alone, strength in numbers, they love each other actually, it's a silly reason to get divorced, ... and so on.

but a divorce is not such a big deal, we're not in the middle/historical ages no more.
