Pastor Jeremiah Steepek (pictured below) transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food....NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit n the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.

As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek"....The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood up.....and started walking down the aisle.....the clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment....then he recited

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see a gathering of people......not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to become disciples? He then dismissed service until next week.......Being a Christian is more than something you claim. I'ts something you live by and share with others.

There are so many of us like this. So many people claiming to be "Christian" but still living for the world, including me. I pray every night, I ask god to lead me, I ask him to forgive me, and I ask to become closer to him. But I still find myself judging, lusting, and living for earthly objects. I just thought this little story I found was interesting, and really hit home. What do you think of this?

That was a really good story. You are correct. There are plenty of people today claiming to be Christian, but in actions they deny God. Just like the scribes, and pharisees who said they believed in God with their mouth, but their hearts were far from him. They were wolves in sheeps clothing. A lot of churches today are about pleasing men, and not pleasing God. We are to lift one another up, and esteem each other better than ourselves. Jesus said to deny yourself, pick up your cross daily, and follow him. Not many people today are denying themselves and picking up their crosses daily and truly following Jesus. They are following the ways of the world like you said. As true born again Christians we can and will make mistakes because we are still in this sinful flesh. We will go through struggles, and tribulations and be persecuted for the name of Jesus. But, if we endure unto the end we shall receive that crown of life for eternity. Jesus will never leave us, nor forsake us. It's all about charity(love). Without charity we are nothing. We have to have charity among ourselves, and be Christ like! Thanks for posting this! God Bless you, brother! Amen! :)

Romans 7 : 14 - 20

NIV

14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.
15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.
17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.
18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

I'm not a Christian but i like the moral of this story. I think that every human being in this world believes in something and lives by some rules. If you are kind and helpful to others, people will be good against you too.
That community sure had some thinking to do for the next 7 days.

Good story nonetheless. Nobody lives how Jesus would want morally, and I'm not sure if it's possible in this modern age. I'm not Christian, or identify with any religion, but I grew up listening to my pastors tell stories like this all the time, and people would just go home as if nothing had just happened.

haha, satan pulling at heartstrings with a lie. the most subtle beast ever created preys on good hearts.
"the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation", i thought it was a lie when i read that part, the elders are not going to introduce a Pastor they dont even know is there, highly doubt it anyway.
