Ok, I'm just going to keep it simple and watch it escalade..because I know it will.
I have been trying to seek a legit answer of this..Beside's it being "Illegal" in most states and countries..Is it ok for a Christian to smoke Marijuana?..Now I'm posting this not as a vote for Marijuana or slaming it kind of kind. I just look at it as a plant with many logical reason for existance. Food, materials, fabric etc...But on the recreational side. Its part of many traditions and has a very positive history on mankind from reglious practices to uniting peace talks of tribes.. Beside's that being said..Is it one of the many tools of the Devil?? or just one of the Green, seed bearing plants in Genesis, that God put on this earth?

Please keep the responses mature and logical...I deal with "oversize children" all day..A legit conversation would be nice every once in a while.

Well, we should always be in control of our bodies at all times. Smoking removes that control and I don't believe Jesus would want us doing such things. Smoking up a joint (or any smoking) isn't something Christians should be engaging in.

If it is used in "tribal practises", than they are probably using it for spirits and that is something to stay away from. None of those spirits are good. If it has uses in materials and products that don't involve getting high, than use it for those things. God made plants, but that doesn't mean he made them to get high off of.

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

If you look at the origin of this word, it is a Greek word pharmakeia, which the English derived the word pharmacy. The primary meaning of this would be the use or administering of drugs.

So using pain killers and cold med's is wrongful as well? not being smart I'm serious...Pain killers are a very dangerous and highly addictive drug. that is so accept by society...so any use of those is a wrongful act?

No you are taking it out of context. It does not mean no use of it at all. Just like you can drink without drinking to become drunk. Drinking alcohol was not shunned upon, but drunkenness is. If you absolutely need it because there is nothing else that will medically help you, then that is a necessity. But taking pain killers or drinking cold medicine just to get an altered state of mind is a sin. Yes.

Out of context? I was totally just asking a question. Drugs alter the state of mind. Even if for medical reason which this plant is known to have very reasonable medical reason...but this thread is going to get lock...Try..try to understand it was a question..not a arguing inducing statement. Thank you that is all..

I also don't understand why would God put plants bearing sin on this planet..but does not warn not to consume these plants...if they were bad why bear a seed to make more..I just don't get it... :/ it was perfectly fine and not illegal till the turn of the 20th century..the reason why its illegal is not because of the high..If ingestable thing's were made illegal because of the altering effects..alcohol and tobacco would be long gone...sigh...this thread isn't going any where..I need answer's that I will not find on here....don't judge or speak against me people..I'm just a working mind with question's...

Sorry for even asking or posting this...

I agree we should avoid even medical drugs if possible (they can help save lifes and they have), but if we ate food that was not "man made" and stuck to "God foods", we wouldn't have most of the health probelms that we do. (exspecially in America) I admit I don't eat as healthy as I should either...

Don't apologize for asking a question. :)
Remeber though, anything that's legal or not by governments isn't what makes something right or wrong. Gods Word is the ultimate Authority.

See the thing is I eat as natural as I can..honestly I avoid cold med's even asprin..its man made. bad news bears for the human body. I strongly believe in herbal medicine. Everything man needs is on this world and given to us. My tonic for a cold is Ginger root, honey, ceyene pepper, and clove...Works great! lol. But still...I am against strong pain killers for much so though. Its horrible for the body and mind. and very very addictive.
