I personally don't think it's arrogant, I think it is hopeful

many misguided people from this quote, like from many of the bible's quotes. Like the Jehova Witnesses, who understand that they must force you into religion. many people understand that they must beat you into religion. What about every priest in the church? do they believe this? sure ... but how misguided ?
of course the real meaning is that you should help other people by donating to the poor, giving good advices, getting involved, working along side others, and so on (like, if you see a stranger who's car battery went dead, you push his car so he can start it)
I helped my mother donate some unused clothes, and some time ago I donated puppets to orphans

Misguided? Presumably so to you. Of course there are corrupted church's and people of the church. Is inevitable, even speaks of so in the Bible. But, just by simply doing the acts of love and kindness can really be a huge impact on the person and/or the surrounding crowd. The only true freedom man/women will ever have is choice. Choice is what and make who you are. It defines your actions and thoughts. Simply because people claim to be walkers of God but do not practice the law's or his grace. Does not automaticaly rule out the fact that God exist. Its very asinine to conceive such a thought. Now excuse
ME I'm off to stuff my face full of cream cheese won-ton's.
