I use to be deeply into Christianity a while ago until I've been moving openly into the homosexual scene and currently in a relationship with another male. I understand if I'm wanting to follow Christianity, that means I'm willing and needing to submit to Jesus, aka, being a disciple (applying scripture to my life, etc).
Here's my question - I don't need to be a Christian to merely study Scripture, do I? I know that's a bit absurd, but a lot of people I've talked to, that know about my sexual preference, ask me if I'm a "Gay Christian" because I use to be in a discipleship study group, bible studies, church settings, etc. I don't make it publicly known about my sexuality, I'm not flamboyant, so don't get the wrong idea!
I'm still interested in studying Scripture as I always have been, I'm just not following it as I use to.
