I get pretty tired of hearing people say they're just old sinners saved by grace.. NO YOUR NOT! Your the very righteousness of God. The Lord has called you worthy.

Romans 3:23-26 (NTL)
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
24 Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past,
26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

This is only 3 verses in a row, but they all clearly state that Christ MADE us righteous when he died for us.
He didn't only die so that our sins would be forgive, that is a small part of what he did when he sacrificed himself for us.

Romans 3:28 (NLT)

28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

You are made right by God THROUGH FAITH! This means you must have faith and know that Christ died for you and that you are made right. You must have faith you are made right.

Romans 4:3 (NLT)

3 For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

This scripture is refering to Genesis 15:6 which says

6 And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.

I will post more scriptures teaching these things when I get home. But for now, Stop being down! Stop being out! Stop being sad! YOU ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD! YOU HAVE THE VERY MIND OF CHRIST!

More scripture explaining why you are righteous.

2 Corinthians 5:21
21st Century King James Version
For He hath made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 5:8-9
21st Century King James Version
8 But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Justified means "to be made righteous"

Romans 9:30-31
21st Century King James Version
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith;
31 but Israel, who followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

This verse explains that we receive this righteousness by faith and not by obeying the law.

If your serious..

You accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and ask him into your heart and believe he died and rose again for us.

Ephesians 2:8-9

King James Version (KJV)

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It's already up there.

I believe you both are mistaken.

We all know the blood of Jesus saves us from our sins: the blood was "shed for many for the remission of sins" (Matthew 26:28). What does baptism have to do with the blood?

Peter preached, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38). Note that the expression "for remission of sins" is the same as in Matthew 26:28. Jesus shed His blood for the remission of sins. How can both be true?

The answer is in Romans 6:3-4: "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." This tells us that when we are baptized into Christ we are baptized into His death. We contact Christ's blood when we obey the gospel and are baptized into Christ.

What saves us? The blood of Jesus. How do we avail ourselves of the blood? Through baptism into Christ. Is baptism a work of our own merit? No. We simply must submit to the will of God. Now, how can anyone deny the necessity of baptism?

Good stuff, thank you for putting that together.
