what im saying is, some people think that they have to do some type of works to get saved

but were clearly saved by faith in Jesus Christ

If we did have to do some type of works to get saved, then that would mean someone would be able to boast

it says right here

Ephesians 2:8-9

King James Version (KJV)

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

What do you all think about this quote from the website http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Basics/god_loves_sinners.htm

"Self-Righteousness

I realize that a believer is under grace and no longer under the curse of the Law, but to say that God hates the wicked is foolish and unbiblical. The great heart of God is much bigger than that. God loves mankind with an unconditional love that supercedes our words or actions. How shallow and immature for anyone to claim that God hates sinners.

There's a group of self-righteous people in our churches today, going around lying, telling lost sinners that they cannot be saved unless they give up their sinful lifestyle and stop sinning. Nothing could be further from the truth of God's Word. Who can stop sinning? Who can cease from committing sin? All that God requires is that a man acknowledge his guilt of sin and deserved penalty in hellfire, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be forgiven. The change that genuine repentance brings is God's department. Our part is simply to BELIEVE."

maybe I am just trying to find an excuse to sin, but I know it is not right to sin

There are temptations everywhere, sometimes it feels like I just want to give in and give myself an excuse to be weak

1 John 1

King James Version (KJV)

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Whatever...

Don't listen to me...

Listen to Jesus Christ

all these denominations of Christians and all these Christians with different beliefs just confuse me...I'm going to look towards Jesus and only him from now on

instead of trying to look for answers from man

Romans 6:14-15

King James Version (KJV)

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Romans 3:31

King James Version (KJV)

31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
