born evil?

My friend was telling me about how there is a sect of Christianity that believes that men were born evil.
Is there a specific name for the sect or is it one of the standard beliefs in Christianity.

It is a standard belief that humans are born with a sinful nature.

Then Eve would say the Serpent deceived her. Even so, she gave the fruit from the tree of knowledge to Adam who was with her while the Serpent was tricking Eve.

Why didn't Adam step in?

can someone's act be called evil and not the person?..what if someone made mistakes and done evil acts but lately nothing but good acts.? labeled as evil before but not now? or someone who has done lots of good before but now some small evils or they evil ?Who are we too judge others?
Soo no one is born evil.We just learn to do evil acts.

Sounds like you have been taught hate what you don't know or share believes with. to ask this in post Christians would not think this way

Genesis 3:6-7

6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

John Wesley states that every man (human), including Jesus, has inherent imperfections: imperfect in knowledge, imperfect in physicality (some people are dumb, some blind, some with physical hindrances), imperfect in our ability to be tempted, and one more that I forget. These do NOT equate to being unholy (imperfect before God, because they are out of our control.) Jesus was tempted. Jesus did not have complete knowledge (he studied under rabbis and showed emotion (surprise) which, in some ways demonstrates his lack of omnipotence.) In accordance with this, it is my belief that while every human is born with human imperfection, our souls are born created perfectly in the image of God. It is the external forces of this world that we cannot escape (things like nature versus nurture, media, peer pressure.) Only one God-man was able to withstand these temptations and influences that lead to the rot in our souls.

What he probably means is that, men are born with sin, just because humans are sinful. We are ALL from men, women just bears the child BUT thats why people say JESUS was born without sin, because he was born through VIRGIN mary, (Christians), making him born without sin.

I've actually heard both he brought to her and one with him being with her. It depends which bible translation you read not all of them are the same. They keep getting changed because someone doesn't like a part.

But as for the inheritly evil question no you are not born that way people just assume that. But reality is we are born pure but god has given us the option to choose wether we want him or sin. But at one point we all chose sin over him. Everyone has besides Jesus.

Edit: as for the virgin Mary she ha nothing to do with not being born with sin. She is not even of importance in a lot of Christian religions only mainly in catholic do saints and angels are popular which I don't understand cause in the bible It says not to idolize the Angels either and it seems to me as if they are but idk since I'm not catholic. But the main reason it says she was a virgin was to show the greatness of the holy spirit who impregnated a women without the need for sex.
