If it lifts any burden from your chest, modern science suggests that witchcraft actually isn't possible in real life. Perhaps that is why it is more often found in art, literature, and video games than in daily life. Unless you decide to start pretending to be a necromancer while at school, work, or the grocery store, I don't think you'll have too much of a problem.
There lies a logical fallacy in your post.
Let me address this problem
Witchcraft, by definition (in traditional context), is the alleged use of supernatural or magical powers
Alleged meaning without proof, Supernatural meaning some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature, and Magical Powers being synonymous with Supernatural Powers.
That being said, can you prove God exists? No, Can you prove he doesn't exist? No. What arises is subjective representation. Apply this to Witchcraft, can we prove it does not exist? No, can we prove it does? No.
In addition, the passage reads "modern science suggests", as in they are putting the topic up for consideration, as in it is not a fact.
It is definitely heartwarming to see you help your fellow man, but the only logical conclusion is that he will become a serial rapist/murderer if he continues down this path, so he must change from playing Warlocks/Necromancers to Melee Tanks.
