We as a people need to begin taking Jesus seriously. Jesus isn't a means to make a buck. In fact, the bible teaches against such gospels. Jesus isn't a way to exploit things. We as a people have managed to turn the name of Christ into everything it isn't. Everywhere i look, i see hatred, and persecution. Not just towards Christians, but by Christians. I see people not being served, and some turned away. Some viewed as hopeless. Is this the image of the invisible God that Paul talks about in Colossians? If we claim to love Jesus, we also MUST claim a couple of things. 1) we must love people. regardless of circumstance. 2) we must accept the bible as the infallible word of God. When we do these things, when we free ourselves, and allow ourselves to be open to the holy spirit, people are going to change.
To anyone who DOESN'T believe in Christ:
I was a drug addict. I was an alcoholic, a thief. i did everything you could think of. I am someone that wants proof of things. When i met Jesus, it was undeniable. Unmistakeable. When i accepted Jesus, my life was never the same again. Jesus was the reason i quit using. While my life isn't perfect, i know that i KNOW that i am serving a risen savior, who's grace saves me daily. Grace is abundant, and its something that we are foolish to say that we comprehend. The fact is, you are never too gone for Jesus. In the bible Paul (formerly Saul) persecuted, and killed a ton of Christians. The Lord got to him one day on a walk down the road, and he was never the same. In fact, he became one of the most profound authors in the bible. Because grace has bounds. Grace shows us what we can't do, and what Jesus has done. good works? Paul says in Galations 2 that the law we live by, will also condemn us. (talking about religous law). If living "good enough" gains our way into paradise, and Jesus was perfect therefor setting the standard, we would have to live perfectly, right? Break one commandment, you break them all. Religion asks you to "do" when Jesus tells us that its been DONE.
If you don't believe, i encourage you to look for yourself. Jeremiah 29:13, God says "when you look for me WHOLEHEARTEDLY, you WILL find me." and it says in Isaiah 43:25 "for i have blotted your sins our for my own sake, and will never think of them again." God doesn't hide himself from those who seek him. if you search for God with an open heart, you WILL find him. and when we find Jesus, and repent of our sins, he forgives, and forgets.
