I got excited for the Christian Fellowship forum until my thread got closed.

http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=59263671&f=125&o=10

It was a constructive thread, but I'm assuming the moderator likes to make all Christians into thinking just like him by closing threads he likes/dislikes.

Got to love Christians and their Christians ways!

Way to be closed minded moderator. I hope you enjoy policing this section and shaping Christianity into the idol you make it.

Talking about illegal drugs isn't looked highly upon in any forum. This forum also isn't meant for "debates". There is a different forum for that.

Thanks. But looking for advice in a Christian forum and getting a topic closed because the moderator doesn't like the topic?
Shouldn't Christians learn, and not live in a bubble?

Christian Fellowship isn't meant for "debates"... hmm I agree.
Should I take my Christian questions somewhere else? (Political and Religious Discussions)
But I thought this specific section was for Christians to fellowship with other Christians.

Do you guys ask questions during Bible Study? Do you question your faith, your Bible, your God? I do.
I do each and every day, and I learn from it. I listen to a pastor's message with a grain of salt.
We're all human. We all have flaws. Which is why I fuel my questions with my curiosity for the truth.

BUT YOU'D BE AN ABSOLUTE FOOL TO NOT QUESTION ANYTHING AND TO TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT IS.

Would Jesus want me to take my questions to the "Political and Religious Discussion" section of d2jsp?
I think Jesus would prefer it instead if I seeked answers from fellow brothers and sister's in Christ in the Christian Fellowship section.
I think Jesus wants answers rooted in the Bible, not answers given to me by the world.

As Christians we should carefully think about the decisions we make. I came here looking for answers, instead I left with the same belief.
Christians are closed minded people, and they do not know how to interact with non-believers.

Many times I'm ashamed to be a Christian because of our stupidity and lack of knowledge.

I don't enjoy sugar coating my beliefs as you can see.

I will take my Christian questions to the Political and Religious section of d2jsp. It makes more sense to learn about Jesus there than here.

I think you should stop generalizing. This is not a website for religion. It is a gaming website with a Christian forum. The rules are clear in here. If you would like an in depth study on the bible perhaps you should join a Christian website devoted to that. There is a time and place for everything, and this forum is neither for your debate. If you cannot adhere to the rules of a simple site like this you are not being the "hardcore" Christian that you are trying to make yourself out to be.

I too would love to expand our Christian discussions here, but this forum is strictly monitored and rules are in place. Because of that I am a member of 3 other Christian websites where I can mentor people or ask questions of my own. You have to remember that this is a gaming forum.

To answer your original question - If anything impairs your judgement, it is a sin. (Romans 8:5-7) Marijuana obviously impairs your judgement. What about painkillers you say? Paul told Timothy to drink wine because of his upset stomach. In matters where our bodies can be made better by such LEGAL drugs, I believe it is ok. But marijuana is illegal. So not only are you illegally impairing your judgement, but you are going against the leaders who are appointed over you. (Romans 13:1) We abide by the laws our government establishes over us UNLESS those laws conflict with God's law. I don't have a problem with prescription marijuana since it is legal at that point, and is being used as a painkiller. But like anything, when we allow anything to control our lives other than God (addictions in this situation) we are sinning.

Last but not least.. If you feel that it is wrong, than it is wrong. It's called sinning against your conscience.

Hmmm... Smoking weed is not a legitimate topic for Christian's in today's society? I shouldn't smoke weed because it's illegal? I guess I will move to California where it is legal, and I will be completely fine under Christian standards according to Dune1.

And I cannot believe a Christian would say, "Go find your answers somewhere else." I didn't know Jesus was so strict about the rules and regulation of when and where Christians can ask other Christians for advice and wisdom.

"No discussion of illicit drugs or narcotics"

Now how many jsp'ers talk about drugs and reference it in their account names and nothing happens to them? Many.
In America we're allowed to voice our opinions on any website.
It's the glory of free speech.

But at dune1's request, I'll make sure to make the extra effort of going to other websites and start the whole process over again.
Oh wait... or maybe I'll just be lazy and say screw it.

This is why Christians shouldn't pick and choose our battles. They should battle every battle.
