How is being both contradictory?

We have a just & merciful LORD. He gives justice where its due, but he also gives mercy that we might have a chance to change.

By sending his beloved Son, Jesus Christ to this Earth, to die for us, he showed mercy, making it easy for us to come to his table. But on those who reject that mercy, he gives them what they want. An eternal separation from the love of God.

because you can argue pretty much all of his actions regarding justice and mercy. why did he wipe out the entire world because the people were disobedient? why didn't he show mercy?

He did show mercy... For ages, he let man live in the land, and continue. It came to a certain point where he said, thats enough... How many more generations of children would have grown up in the corrupt perverted society.

It said before the flood, "The thoughts of man's heart were only evil always."

Kind of like how we are as a society today.

I totally agree with God, its the same thing as with Sodom & Gommorah. It came to a point when it would actually be merciful to wipe them out.

Remember, its not the physical death that matters, but the judgement.

But if the thoughts of man's heart were always evil, shouldn't he have just let them live? Because later when the earth populates again, it will turn evil anyways. Much like the world now... so much hate and wars etc..

I understand how he's both just and merciful, but in a way I don't lol.

Just imagine what the world would be like if we descended from those evil people. Instead we descended from Noah and his family.

God is merciful in that he even gives us the option to repent. He is just in that if we don't we will be punished.

Romans 3:23-26 Amplified Bible (AMP)

23 Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory [a]which God bestows and receives.

24 [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,

25 Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.

26 It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time (in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus.

In a common expression, if you redeem a coupon, as a propitiation for a can of say beans at the grocery store, you will bring reconciliation on what is owed.

Therefore after some pondering, the concepts of God's "just" and "mercy" are not mutually exclusive at all. They are symbiotic!

Genesis 3:5-6 King James Version (KJV)

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Core ignorance caused Adam to bite and Noah's world to get evil progressively

Solution to have a God loving world:

Read ur books, take over the world, love God and raise ur children to love God

Heroes are intelligent. Books are a large part of intelligence.
As the world progresses there are more books.
Also the Earth has always been about Military Control.
