Most people don't find the combined wisdom of thousands of years of civilization worth it because 'reading is boring.'

Good for you to step up. I'm sure God respects your discipline.

he only said tonight, discipline is when it becomes something that has been weened into your life.
we will see how long he keeps that up. lol.. most people read 1/2 a chapter of a book and get bored because:

A - they are idiots and cant comprehend symbolism
B - lazy
or C - doing it for the wrong reason.

Some people read the entire bible and others just take what they can out of it - memorizing their favorite verse. It's better than nothing.

Assuming you're a follower of Christ, I'd say it might be better to encourage and support others instead of laughing at, then talking down their positive statements meant to encourage others to also follow Christ.
