Its an interesting question for me. I have been a Christian for most of my life, and like most Christians I go through hot and cold streaks. What I mean by that is, I will have a week, a month, a year where I am in constant prayer and I am truly close to God. But, there are weeks, months, years even where I will not pray, or even think about God. It seems strange to just be off and on, but for me it has become a habit. I am not sure what the triggers are that make me fade away from God, but for the most part my spiritual life is always on during the summer and I love it and then come time for college, I go into a spiritually brain dead state. That is to say that I just don't think about God in any way. I am a person that develops habits very very quickly and that is a good thing and a bad thing and that is what contributes to my constant changes in my life.
But, the reason for this topic is simple. I want to know what keeps you conscious in your faith? What are ways that you keep God at the front of your mind? Do you have praying habits that help you remember?
I am going back to college in a few weeks and to be honest, I just dont want to fall into the cycle again.
Here is a song that I love that really puts into perspective what I mean when i say "staying conscious"
(I don't have ADD, but this is just how I feel with my relationship with God)
