In exodus God killed people just for being bad. Told people believe in Him and He will fight for you. He also killed people.

Did God commit murder by killing?

And also

Are we suppost to follow the exodus laws? Seem a little unreasonable to me. If we curse out parents we are to be put to death.

Probable fanaticist answer:

"Old testament isn't real because ~blahblahblah~."

Real answer:

If you follow the bible, follow the whole bible.

It's not that the old testament isn't real, it's just that we are in the age of grace since the death of Jesus on the cross. In the old testament, people had to sacrifice animals to cover their sins. In the new testament, Jesus is the sacrifice for our sins.

That's what I was thinking as well. Maybe when God looked at the people BC Ge saw their sin when ours He does not.
