World's oceans in 'shocking' decline
The oceans are in a worse state than previously suspected, according to an expert panel of scientists.
In a new report, they warn that ocean life is "at high risk of entering a phase of extinction of marine species unprecedented in human history".
They conclude that issues such as over-fishing, pollution and climate change are acting together in ways that have not previously been recognised.
The impacts, they say, are already affecting humanity.
As we have read, the fish dying are one of the last day events spoken of in the bowl judgements of Revelation as well as other areas of the bible. This is because when an extinction event like this occurs, the most sensitive are affected first; the amphibians (which we are seeing), as well as fish.
Here are some of the verses that talk about it:
"The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died." (Revelation 16:3)
"That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away. The wild beasts, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea are dying." (Hosea 4:3)
"Then the second angel blew his trumpet, and a great mountain of fire was thrown into the sea. One-third of the water in the sea became blood, one-third of all things living in the sea died, and one-third of all the ships on the sea were destroyed." (Revelation 8:8)As we can see, when speaking of the last days, this is one of the main events that takes place, and we can see it happening now on a grand scale.
What will happen in the coming months?
