serious question about UFC MMA fighting
so i was watching this show and i have conflicting thoughts because in the bible the israelites fought and warred with nations
but jesus said not to hurt people

can someone disciple me in this situation because i might take MMA as my secondary sport, i normally play basketball which is somewhat of a contact sport but i'm not aiming to hurt people

I believe there's also something in the Bible that says that physical exercise is good for the body, but spiritual exercise is better. I'm sorry that I can't provide a reference for it :( maybe someone else can.

also it's another thing that influences my views because when i was a lil kid my mommy would say not to fight...

What's the reason of the fight..

My belief is this.. We are born to love, how do we show love in something that consist of hurting another person?
Do we intentionally hurt people we care about?
Since, the answer is clearly no. Then how can we hurt another brother even if it's a "sport".

in mma it is not a fight between people for the reason of hate, just a sport, with, more often than not, respect for each other.

Close, it actually says, "For bodily exercise profiteth little : but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come" (I Timothy 4:8)

Some of those fighters get NASTY, but I guess it is case to case.
