I'm about to share a part of my life that I never thought would be shared publically so....bear with me.

Back in 7th-8th grade, I developed OCD - obsessive compulsive disorder (yea I had to look up the spelling). Anyways, it was centered around religion (specifically Christianity). I feared going to hell so much that I threw up and missed school. I would literally cry myself to sleep on those thoughts. (8th grade by the way). I was prescribed prozac and that basically made me think "ok, I don't care". I know fluoxitine messes with the serotonin receptors and crap but I guess I have to ask: Would I go to heaven if I died tomorrow? Again, dumb post, but I think I'll get a good response here.

Hmm, I never really had that.

Then again, I didn't think about it much.

I came to Christ at the age of 23, so I wasn't "brought up" Christian or anything.

Can't edit posts, but as Heights said: Have you accepted Jesus?

As far as it sounds, it doesn't affect you anymore does it?

fearing hell is actually nothing but a strong belief it exists. Thats why the bible says "Those that fear the Lord and blessed".

Because if you fear something, you have a very strong, or even KNOWING it exists. So I would say what you had isn't necesarily bad.

But if you have accepted the Lord Jesus as your personal savior and have given him your life, and believe he died and rose again on the 3rd day, and you call on his name... You are saved and will go to heaven.

We are not to serve Christ because we have a literal, overbearing fear of hell. You should seek peace!

Well...I don't know. Back in the day ten years or so ago, I thought I did. Whether that was the OCD or not, I can't tell. At the moment, I'm stuck at the position of "I can't know fore sure".

I believe it was Pascal who said something along the means of "There isn't enough evidence to believe in God....but there is enough that He cannot be dismissed" - something like that.

thats why christianity is called a faith. If their was "evidence" of his existence everyone would believe

Well, if someone will humble themselves and look, and be open to the truth, there is evidence too. Just need to know where to look & how to look at it.

Pascal's principle is actually a mathematical reason to believe in god. It draws out 4 possibilities:
1) god exists and you believe in him.
2)god exists and you do not believe in him.
3)god does not exist and you believe in him.
4)god does not exist and you do not believe in him.

What this principle actually does is show that the only choice that ends with eternal pleasure is to believe in god.
If you are interested in more about this principle pm me as I don't feel like writing an essay here lol.
