So i often ask the Lord, Jesus Christ, for money in my free prayer (free prayer is my own word for prayers that are not the normals like the Lords prayer, as i walk through the valley, and as i lay me down to sleep) and i was wondering if this is wrong.

I am not well off, and having trouble finding a job. I took classes at College but in order to become what i trained to become i have to take several state, national, and local tests and it is very time consuming.

I am currently engaged to the woman of my dreams but we live with her parents free of rent for now and it is very irritating to me. Not that we live with them or have some simple rules which i do not attest,

but that i am unable to support and care for my fiance and own a place of our own, or at the very least, rent one

Is there anywhere in the scripture that either allows or disallows praying for money?

please help me.

Keep this in mind. God has a plan for you, to benefit you, and to be for the greater good. It's possible you may be facing some harsh things for a while. Or you could win the lottery tomorrow. As it is though... I don't believe it's wrong to ask God for money, per se.... You are trying to start your life, and family. You are looking to get things rolling. Pray for God to help you get a good job, to help motivate you, and to help you in these harsh times.

I do ask for motivation and strength a lot because i am a moderately humble man and will admit that i have none some times. But it is a good idea to ask for a good job and motivation instead of money outright...thank you for your words =]

i dont believe its wrong to ask for money as long as were not just sitting around doing nothing and waiting for it to fall in our laps.

if youre doing what you can to look for a job and things like that, God will bless you.

it may not happen overnight, but if youre faithful and diligent God will answer your prayers =]

Should only ask for good health, food, and shelter

instead of praying for money, pray for the thing you want to buy with the money.

the bible says "the love of money is the root of all evil" so try not to focus on the money so much but the thing you will buy with the money. Im not saying you love money, im just saying after a while your mind will think you need money more than the actual thing you buy with the money, which will eventually manifest as a love for money. So steer clear of praying for money and pray for what you actually want. Because money has no purpose if you couldn't buy anything with it.

i dont want to say its wrong to pray for money, but i'd rather pray for help, pray for assitance.

it is deffinately not wrong to pray to God for money. He will supply u with all your needs. He knows in your heart what your ultimate desire for that money really is. If it is all in good intentions, keeps asking and he will give you anything that your heart desires (ofc if u stick strong to the word and represent Jesus).
