I met someone who said that dreadlocks are a sin because it's unclean and you're not supposed to grow your hair out (not sure which chapter this is said but I know what he was talking about, there is a verse somewhere stating it)

On the other hand in Acts it talks about the Nazerite vow in which you do not cut your hair or shave certain parts of your face, as well as a bunch of rules including but not limited to: not eating grapes, avoiding fermented drinks(alcohol), not eating meat especially things like pork, lobster, shrimp, scavengers of the earth etc

How so? Dreadlocks are just how hair naturally forms without brushing it or using chemicals in your hair

Oops I'm so sorry, I meant to say Numbers. Chapter 6:5 “All the days of his vow of separation, no razor shall touch his head. Until the time is completed for which he separates himself to the Lord, he shall be holy. He shall let the locks of hair of his head grow long."

Ezekiel also puts in something about the topic in Chapter 44:20 "They shall not shave their heads or let their locks grow long; they shall surely trim the hair of their heads."

What Moses wrote in Numbers 6:5 has nothing to do with man cutting or growing hair today. The Nazarite vow of Numbers 6 is an example of how some chose to maintain a closer walk with God. Samson and John the Baptizer were Nazarites all their days. In Micah 2:11 and Amos 2:12 we can see how depraved Israel became prior to Babylonian and Assyrian captivity (722-606 B.C.) because they mocked the Nazarites and rejected the prophets. Basically, to take this vow simply meant that one pledged to live closer to God. It is probably the Nazarite vow Paul engaged in as Acts 21 unfolds.

Ezekiel also puts in something about the topic in Chapter 44:20 "They shall not shave their heads or let their locks grow long; they shall surely trim the hair of their heads".

What do you think this means?

I understand that the Nazarite vow doesn't apply to today and that the essence of it is to be on God's terms rather than societies standards.

I don't know what Ezekiel is trying to say. Is he trying to say that you should keep your hair tidy? Avoiding both extremes one hand completely getting rid of your hair and the other just letting it grow naturally?

Aren't you an atheist? Not sure how your input is valid. Even if that wasn't the case, it is always better to take caution to be on good terms with God.
