wher duz your faith come from ?

im one of them sad ppl that red the bible ther is alot of things ther that dont add up.

and religion has killed mor ppl than hitler did

now im realy not trying to piss any1 off here but with them simple facts i just dont understand wher faith can come from?

Religion has killed a lot of people. Many Christians were burned at the stake in the 1500s for opposing the Catholic Church.

Jesus however, is the one to follow.

My faith comes from Jesus, killed, buried, but then Ressurected.

As far as "religion killing people" do you mean the old testament killings? like Assyria or Babylon? or more recent events?
I kno its tough to think about, how a loving God can allow such things, but everything has its purpose, even if we dont understand it

ty for your serious answer. the killing i am talking about is all the killing than man has done in the name of his god (whotever god that may be)

the idea of evil is a tough one for alot of people
they ask, "how can a kind, loving God allow so much evil in the world?"
but God's thoughts are much more than we can understand in our simple little minds

I dont think it looks like you are "picking on Christians" you just seem courious about their faith

the problem alot of people have with reading the bible is that they read to much into it (or not enough) or they take it totally out of context
keeping the text in its context is key, if you read to much into just one part of one verse things can be all out of sorts
if you do that than the bible says that "there is no God"
-Psalm14:1-
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God "They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;There is no one who does good.
But that is not at all what the text is saying!

Keeping it in its historical context helps alot to, when you know what was going on at that time period it can shed alot of light on the scripture
one of the hardest things to do is to look beyond our "logic" or what we may think to be right by our standards
because God sees and knows things that we would never think of and couldnt understand if we did
I used to think about alot of nonsense before i became a believer (our cruel nature toward others, greed, pride, etc.)
But just knowing that God is soverign and that its all apart of a plan is one of the greatest comforts

think about this, Jesus Christ crucified...a horrible, painful way to die, one of the most cruel and inhumane things for anyone to think of to do to another person
was the ultimate display of Gods unlimited grace, infinate mercy, and unconditional love toward us

-Romans 5:8-
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

This seems like a thread better suited for PaRD, but I suppose this is a legitimate place to post it as well.
Honestly, I have faith because it's a bit comforting to know that there's someone out there who's better than us. Honestly, if humanity was as good as it got, we'd be in a sad existence. I like to think that someone up there has a plan and understands what's going on with the world, because I sure don't

Me too actually.. If anyone wants to explain to me where they have found their faith it would be rather awesome.

The LORD sent Him down to this planet for us. To make a way.
