To start.

Personally, I go to church and believe in God.

Im asking these questions to christians/other believers in God.

So, since you believe in god you believe there is a heaven and a hell. well i do..

however i was thinking about this the other day....

Do you believe you have to be a Christian in order to go to heaven?

There is approximately 6 billion human beings on Earth. (debatable..but doesnt really matter)

there is around 2 billion Christians...now if you believe you have to be a christian..thats 4 billion in hell.

Out of the 2 billion people that "call" themselves Christians...how many of them actually pray, have a real relationship with God, go to church...ext....

I would probably say less then half personally...

So thats 1 out of 6 billion people going to heaven...with 5 out of 6 billion in hell.



I dont think theres an answer to this...I would just like to know other peoples thoughts

There is a bible verse that God says that he will judge those that have never heard of him on the light that they DO shine.

Church won't save you.

Jesus will.

Those who serve Jesus will be found at the end of the age when He sends out His armies of many millions through the Earth.

i know it's sad to know this, not only are billions of people on their way to hell but the ones who were before them and the ones that are to come
the populations continue to grow, christians are being mocked, that's nothing new, which is why christians today need to continue to pray and ask the lord to continue saving souls
and if the lord's laid this on your heart, it's called a burden, a burden for llost souls, he might be calling you to ministry or to be a missionary
i'm not saying that every person who feels this way is called to preach but everyone is called to be priests and soul winners

That is why evangelism is biblically mandated. Unfortunately, as Christians - God's body - we aren't doing a very good job.

yes, instead of thinking about the # of ppl that may or may not go to hell, we must touch as many ppl as we can~

Since the rest was essentially covered already, I'll just address this. The global population is debatable the same way as "The sky is blue" is debatable, i.e. it's not at all. The population reached 6 billion on October 12, 1999. We're closer to 6.7 or 6.8 billion now.

in order to go to heaven you must know jesus has saved you, so like you said billions of people are heading to hell. as believers this should incite a panic for the lost inside of us and make us want to reach out and evangelize even more
i suck at telling non christians about jesus but its something i have been working on and something jesus has been teaching me how to do lately

out of curiosity since i like to explore every aspect of every situation..

What about?
unborn children
any child born and killed prior to the age of conscious memory
individuals with no possible way to hear the word (natives or indigenous peoples)


Either A: They go to heaven because the bible was wrong on that account which opens a terrible door of fallibility...

or B: They go to hell to be tormented for eternity, which.... i'm going to be completely honest, is not any God I would ever want anything to do with.. ever.
