So I've been thinking...

I pray every day and genuinely believe in God and everything, but I've never been to church willingly and actually have no urge right now to go to one. Some religions would say what I do is wrong and that I need to go to church or I don't believe in God. But isn't my faith between me and Him?

Just food for thought stuff I'm looking for basically. I don't expect to change myself by going to church unwillingly, it doesn't feel genuine so I don't think I should do it.

Going to church is not required in order to be a Christian. However, a healthy faith journey requires fellowship.

Bullshit. You do not have to go to church to have verses spoon fed to you by a priest in order to have healthy faith.

Church is a place to study the bible and meet other Christians. You do not need to go to Church in order to go to Heaven.

I recommend that the fellows who posted here look up the code of canon law.

Fellowship =/= church. I clearly stated in my first sentence that you don't need to go to church. But, you do need to be in fellowship with other Christians. So many verses back this up, including:

"Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."
Galatians 6:2,10

"What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin."
1 John 1:3,7

"Walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. "Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord...because we are members of His body."
Ephesians 5:2,19,30

And here is a good reason why fellowship is important:

15"If your brother sins against you,[b] go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'[c] 17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
18"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be[d]bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[e] loosed in heaven.

19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

The earliest followers of Christ would often spend the entire weekend gathered together to worship and fellowship and suffered great persecution for it .

We should follow their example while at the same time giving thanks that we may do so openly .
