Hey, so I volunteered to lead prayer in my catechetics class, and as it would turn out, I was assigned to do it on Monday. I would love to know what your favorite prayers are, since I still don't know which to use yet. :D

I pray from the heart not by rote .

Maybe you coud write one that includes the basics of adoration , worship , thangsgiving and supplication .

Yeah I wish I could help you, I don't know any prayers per se and I pray on my own accord.

Someone here will come along with something you're looking for I believe.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help, but maybe you can just write something of your own from the soul and it would probably be more heart-felt.

id suggest you just express how you feel about God, and how His role has affected you -- not something memorized or repeated

e/ from the Bible i love saying
'holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almight who was, and is, and is to come' when im worshipping =)

I appreciate all of the input. And often in the mornings when I actually remember to pray (something I've only started doing recently), I get very personal with it. However praying with the class I'd prefer a more general prayer. I go to catholic school, and we pray before each period; usually it's something like a Hail Mary, Our Father, etc. So I kind of need a prayer, and I figured this would be the place to ask for a unique one. But if not I will find one online :D
I do pray on my own accord but it gets kind of personal in front of a class

I personally wouldn't use that one exactly.

But maybe think of a story where someone did something that made you angry or upset, relate that into the type of story that was told above.

Remind people that through hardships you must remain strong in your Faith in God and that persecution does no good.

Remind your class that we must forgive the faults of others and that just because something might seem that it's going against us, we're not the only ones in this world who need Him.

I didn't mean to imply that you should pray in front of the class as if you're praying for yourself, but pray in front of the class as if you're praying with family.

I myself have never said a public prayer and the thought of doing so is something I am not comfortable with yet so I understand what you're going through.

Buy personally I wouldn't use someone elses prayer.
