I was raised Christian, and fell out of it when I was about 12 or 13.
I'm now 21, and I want to give it a worthy chance, does anyone have any idea's that would help me along the way?

I will suggest getting involved in a solid Bible church where you feel at home .

Pray that God will lead you to where He wants you .

I just can't seem to find a church where I feel at home, or where I feel like I fit in.
Is it normal to cycle through 5-10 before finding the right one for you?

I had a very cool experience .

I had rejected the faith of my childhood and later in life I decided to seek some sort of spiritual truth . My first instinct was to return to what I knew and was familiar with but I met only resistance so I began by attending the services and study programs of various Christian denominatons . Lucky for me I lived in a part of the Bible belt that had more than its fair share .

Anyway , one day I had gone grocery shopping and when I was putting my groceries away I found a flier in the bottom of one of the bags . The flier was announcing a study on the Book of Revelation and of course gave the name and address of the affiliated church . It was a church I had never seen in all my travels throughout the area and I decided I would attend services there the following Sunday .

I walked in the door a few minutes before services and was filled with an incredible sense of " being home " and instantly knew this was where God had led me .

It is for this reason I always recommend trusting in God to bring us where He wants us and have all faith He will do so for you . As long as our trust in Him is sincere I will always believe He responds .

To the best of my recollection it took about a year for the process to work itself out in His time .

I think it's different for everyone. For me I was lucky, the first chruch I walked into was home. I go to a Church of Christ, those are good bible based non-denominational churches. If you live in the south they can be very strict though. Luckily I live in Ohio so they are pretty relaxed where I am. If that doesn't work look for a First Christian Church, those are also non-denominational. Talk to a minister/pastor at one of the churches you try out, they should be able to help you find a church that will suit you.

I would recommend finding a church or group that is geared toward college/ post college age adults. It will mostly address relative issues for you, and provide a community that you can easily fit into. Ask friends, family, and so on for suggestions on where to go.

Definitely something contemporary though.

I would also suggest the Covenant denomination as a denomination that is geared more towards contemporary issues, outreach, Biblically based, etc.

It can take many churches to find the right fit, so do not get discouraged!! :)

But yes, joining a church and getting involved in their activities is a great way to get started.
