atlzjimbo, i have i think a good question for you.
We know that the bible is seperated by two different book: "old testament" and "new testament". The first is talking about the israel people (before Jesus-Christ) and the second is talking about the savior Jesus-Christ. Ok right, now my question. How the people before of Jesus-Christ birth could have been saved if they didn't even have an idea of how it's was working about the resurrection and wasn't able to give their life to Jesus?
Reanimateddead that is a real good question you have there im pretty sure a lot more people than just you is curious about this question.
Back in the "old testament" before Christ came came into the picture. As it states in the bible the price for sin is blood. Many Tribes had a sacrificial temple where the head priest would gather up all the sins of his tribe and pay their debts off with an animal sacrifice which mainly was lamb. Sacrifice was written in the old testament, when god asked Moses to sacrifice his son Sinai for the test of faith. That is why Jesus Christ is known to be the Lamb of God or as the Holy sacrifice. His blood was so pure and holy that when he came to Earth he was destined to to pay for our debts of many sins we have done and to come. That is the reason why it is said for us the gentiles for us to be saved is the believe that that sacrifice was made for us and our sins. Therefor all our debts would be re payed and only asks us to do is repent.
I hope this helped out a little better of your understanding if i did not answer your question please let me know what part so i can try to explain it more thoroughly. Thanks for the good question.
