One particular verse in the bible changed every single thing for me. It changed the course of history. One shining moment when I read this passage that stood out more than anything than I have ever read in the bible. More like a key verse.

Oh that and I had some experience of when a miracle happened as to when I turned to the Lord and he helped me find my way home.

This verse makes me NOT want to be like Thomas. You should NOT be like Thomas.

Actually you should read the first few paragraphs of this. (Including the key verse) If anything only read the first 3 paragraphs if only that.

In a way, I came from a religious background. My grandparents were converted when I was about 5 or 6 years old and I began to go to church with them. When I was 9 years old, I began to live with my dad in another state and didn't ever go to church except when I would see my grandparents in the summer. When I was 11 years old God filled me with His spirit, and later on I realized there was something real about this Christianity business. However, I refused to believe in something just because somebody told me it was true. I wanted facts. I wanted reason. So, when I was about 15, I began to read books explaining how there is reason to believe that Jesus really is God, that there really is a Creator of the universe, and all kinds of things. It really took months of soul-searching for me to finally decide to give my life to Jesus Christ.

The books I read were by former atheist and journalist of the Chicago Tribune, Lee Strobel. He has several books out now that go through what I described earlier, and it really was his books that led me make that final decision. In fact, I accidentally ran into these books, and now I know God had a plan for me. Please consider reading these books by Lee Strobel. I would start with The Case for Christ, and then move on to The Case for a Creator. Then read his others. He also has a website: leestrobel.com

I wish you the best eXip. There is a quote I heard recently that I think really applies to you (whether or not you believe in God). It says, "When you are down to nothing, God is up to something."

I believe because I have found power with God that overshadows every other power available in this life.

I believe because I have taken on God's challenge to PROVE his word in my life, and it really works, all of it!

I have personally manifested God's power in this world too much to deny that His way is best.

I have miraculously healed people physically, I have cast devil spirits out of insane people and healed them mentally, and I have taught people about the holy spirit and healed them spiritually.

Nothing in my life would be worth anything without God's energizing.

The Bible is perfect in it's original language, and simple getting 36 writers to agree over a 4000 year period of time, is a sign in itself imo.

I'm an atheist who is always searching for the truth. I'm glad to see someone who is searching places high and low to find the truth. Keep up the good work!

But until i find sufficient evidence i'm left searching.

As you both Im a atheist BUT I stand up and live my life out of the way to live out from the christians religion. (The best thing that I learned from christians is to NOT follow this: a eye for a eye.

But when I read religion I sometimes meet this or think sometimes God (if there is one) take to much credit.

But is it needed to have a proof? I think religion should help you live the life as a good person. Is like a form of guide. Thats the way I see it.

Hey guys hopefully I can help you out or guide you too something that can help you out but first I must say the truth takes time.. I believe many people who are struggling with the same thing you guys are want just a single sentence of so called "evidence" of the truth but don't want to take more than a minute or two to either listen or search for the true evidence.. It takes time to understand the truth and you must read or listen to more than just one sentence to fully understand something.. For example you wouldn't understand an entire book, the plot's and conclusion's, only by reading the title of the book.. You must take time to read the book to understand it..

If you really want the truth take some time and listen to the beginning of this book, "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis and listen to some of the evidence and idea's he gives..
C.S. Lewis was an atheist before he became a Christian and accepted the belief of Jesus so you might be able to relate to what he's saying even more

If you do not feel like this relates to you or you do not have time to listen to this video take a few minutes to pray to God and ask Him to open up your heart and show you the truth in Him
(Luke 11:10-13) "For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

I believe in God simply because I refuse to believe this universe simply sprang into existance at some point in time. There is a beginning and an end, the Alpha and Omega, and we call it God.

people all over are going to be saying this and that and how He doesn't exist and that we can't prove that He does, but at the same time no one on earth has solid proof that He doesn't. I believe because i also don't think things just came into existence. I'm not the best Christian around to ask things, i have lost my faith so many times in my life it is unbelievable...i've doubted so many times but something inside me just tells me that He is real...maybe it is He Himself. I just take a walk outside and I see everything around me...it's just impossible that something so amazing as this world we live in to not come from God. you sort of sound like you're going through a time where you just don't understand anything going on anymore, and you just want to know the truth and to find a real answer...maybe you should try to pray, like with all your heart pray..ask God what his purpose for you is, and if you're going through something tough right now ask Him to ease your pain and help you..and maybe if that sounds too far-fetched for you, pick up a Bible and start reading. get an understanding of Jesus Christ, and maybe you'll find that you're starting to build a relationship with Him. we humans will never truly understand everything, so many things might be so confusing for you at this time, but just know that God is waiting for you and He loves you, He will never leave you even when everything around you is just falling apart.

it is good to live out God's laws in christianity, but the most important thing that sets it apart from just being a good person is accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. it's not all about this world we live in right now, because it's just a temporary place. Our real home is going to be either heaven or hell. i was talking to some people the other day who believe in heaven or hell but not really in Jesus, and they think that just by being good to people you'll go to heaven. in other words, pretty much loving others will get one to heaven, but the truth is, do we humans truly know what it is to love someone else unconditionally like Jesus or to be good to someone else? Only through Jesus Christ's real, true pure love will we understand, and so you can say that you are a good person in life but in the end you can't judge yourself and others can't judge you, only God can. only through Jesus Christ will you learn what is truly good, and it is the only way into Heaven, the real home.
or maybe you just don't believe in heaven or hell at all...and that this earth is where we live and where we die and that's it..all i can say is it is better to die finding out there is no God then to die and find out there is.
