I'm going to an ordination for someone who is becoming a pastor this coming Sunday. Tbh, I don't usually go to church that often anymore, and I need some advice for the proper dress code for an installation service. It's expected to be 93 degrees during the day, I'm not sure if it will be inside or outside, but I want to be prepared for both. To be honest, the less clothing I can wear, the better.

I was thinking dress shoes, khaki long pants, and a dress shirt (not a polo, but button up). Yea I need some advice if you've ever been to one of these before.

I don't think you can go wrong with that.

I haven't seen the person who's getting ordained in like 4 years, so I dont want to suddenly email her asking if it's an outside or inside thing.

Even if it is an outside thing, shorts are out of the question, right?

Do not wear shorts. In my opinion, anything with a collar is fine. A button up preferred over a polo, but a plain color polo wouldn't be inappropriate. It shouldn't change much from inside to outside. As long as you look presentable, you're completely fine.
