i was raised to go to church every sunday, but the older i get the more and more it seems like the church is nothng more than a profit organization and the bible was simply written by 12 dudes who couldnt explain the universe/life/death/etc because they just didnt know any better. now we have proof of evolution and humans spawned off of monkeys...
i might be going to hell because of that. i guess im losing my faith.
thoughts?

talk to God. pray, and ask. Jesus wants you to talk to him. Once you start seeing his works in your life, things will look up. Well they do for me..but you must live to please God. You must believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. He really is

There are actually many arguments against evolution if you're not crippled by the scientific community's stranglehold on the school/university system. I always wondered if we evolved from monkeys, why do we still have monkeys?

While you are correct in that the "Church" as an organized body has repeatedly throughout history done evil things in the name of God because of the fallibility and nature of men, they are not Christ, nor are they true representatives of His Word.

Like you, I doubted for a long time. Until I was about 33-34 yrs old. Then I started really investigating science and reading the Bible and seeking out different viewpoints. In the end, to people with doubts I say this: You don't see the wind, nor could you "prove" that it exists, but you know it exists because of the effect it has on everything else that you do see. In the same way, I have seen the effect that Jesus Christ has on people when they completely surrender their lives to Him. (Or, more accurately, partially surrender, because it's a constant struggle for us humans to deny ourselves and "take up the cross".)

It's a LOT easier to deny ourselves with the holy spirit, in fact its the only way we can do it. You must pray, and seek, and be persistent though if you really wish to become a true follower of Jesus Christ. I'm trying and its so joyful and awesome. I encourage everyone to try it out and who knows, maybe they may keep it up!

Nothing is impossible with God, just ask and you shall receive

The first bold should throw a red flag to anyone half-educated in the sciences. I suggest you do some research, because you clearly do not understand the concept of Darwinian Evolution. As to the second bold, we do not see the wind, but we do know it is there, as it directly affects tangible objects. For instance, tornados are only visible because the wind which spawns them sucks up all surrounding matter. Indirectly, we know wind is there because we see the result of wind through its tangible destruction. It can be proven to exist. If you really doubt it to exist, despite this, you can always view the acceleration of the many gasses within our atmosphere. Jesus can hardly be proven through the same methods. In the end, with religion, it all comes down to faith, which can be either destructive or beneficial, depending on the extent to which one believes in the unseen.

:)
