Basically I went to private school during elementary and middle school and I was taught Christianity so be being young was like " yeah I'm a Christian "
Well when I went to middle school I started questioning Christianity (primarily 6th and 7th grade ), I guess I was becoming more of an independent thinker cause I was maturing and if people asked If I was Christian and I remember me saying I wasn't a Christian I believe cause I didn't completely understand religion much and didn't care.

Well in 8th grade I my teacher taught me alot about it and I became a stronger Christian and now that I went into high school I really started thinking about Christianity and I find myself not believing or agreeing with all of it.

I believe that Jesus came to Earth died for our sins and rose 3 days later.
I also believe that if you are an overall good person or bad person ( in God's eyes ) decides if you go to Heaven or Hell when you die not if you are a 100% perfect Christian based of the bible (my opinion on bible below ) because in my opinion living like that seems like there is not much freedom to live your life how you want. And that goes back on what I said if you choose to live your life as an overall good helping person then you will be rewarded in this case Heaven.
I believe different parts of quite a few things as well such as reincarnation ( I think that it is quite possible to be reincarnated )

I'm convinced that Bible is not God's word because it has been miss interrupted, and re written over the years to fit the past cultures and type of people and is not God' original meaning.

And if people ask me if I'm a Christian I could say yes but that would be a lie because I don't go to church, I have had sex before marriage and plan on continuing that ( sex is great come on ) I swear, listen to non Christain music play violent video games etc.. and none of that is " Jesus like " as some people would say but if I say no that is blasphemy so I'm actually a bit lost how much of a Christian I actually am... I'm starting to think I'm not one but I'm not part of another religon I just believe different things and being yourself, who you were made to be

I tried to keep this short... so If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for read.

You seem like a normal person to me :) It is quite normal to question one's religious beliefs, I know I have. And everyone sins, EVERYONE, even all those holier than thou people's. Just keep striving!!! Little things along the way will strengthen your spiritual relationship. Things like making an effort to stop cussing, pre-marital sex, etc... One way to start is to listen to some positive music, doesn't have to be pure christian, just free of negativity. Things fall into place.

You have one thing wrong though:

The only way to get to heaven is to accept Jesus as your savior. You could have perfect sunday school attendence, donate all your money to charity, read the bible every day. But until you accept Jesus into your heart, heaven will still be out of reach.

I did accept him into my heart as my savior, I just don't believe in all the commands and the way of life of a true christian and i feel that doesn't make one :o

One does not need to go to church to be a Christian. They simply need to accept Jesus as their savior. As far as not considering yourself Christian, everyone on earth has sinned except for Jesus. No one is perfect and no one ever will be until He returns. Though, part of your faith is realizing this but still attempting to better yourself to perfection while repenting of your sins. Though, I do question how you justify believing in some parts of the Bible while questioning the legitimacy of other parts (you say you believe in the death and resurrection, which is only proofed in the Bible, but then say the Bible is not God's word.)

In regards to believing people go to Heaven based upon justification by deeds, or good works, they do not. It is clearly stated in the Bible that there is no justification by deeds that gives you access to Heaven, only God's grace. This grace is found in God giving us free will. When it says that God will one day judge us and either grant us eternal life in Heaven or Hell, it simply means He states, like a judge would, where we go. WE are the ones that determine where we go through our free will to believe or not believe. It is our free will to choose Heaven or Hell. God's unconditional love is just that, unconditional. He would never condemn someone to Hell, but through His eternal love He will still remain with them there.

I'd love to answer more questions. Shoot me a pm if you ever come back to this thread and respond!

You can find a pretty good explanation for denominations here:
http://www.gotquestions.org/denominations-Christian.html

In sum, "the point of these divisions is never Christ as Lord and Savior, but rather honest differences of opinion by godly, albeit flawed, people seeking to honor God and retain doctrinal purity according to their consciences and their understanding of His Word." What this means is that there is a difference in specific traditions and theologies. Obviously, the Bible is open for much interpretation. So, what the text actually means is a factor here. I am Covenant so my focus is based on several "affirmations" or undeniable truths. Here is a list taken from the official website:

We affirm the centrality of the word of God.

We affirm the necessity of the new birth.

We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the Church.

We affirm the Church as a fellowship of believers.

We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.

We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.

"I believe that Jesus came to Earth died for our sins and rose 3 days later." You are a Christian because of this. You perhaps are not "faithful" though.
Once you are born again, you are born of God's incorruptible seed. Once you have the gift of holy spirit, you cannot lose it.
Having "Christ in you" is different from having "you in Christ" though. If you aren't living for God, you are not exercising the power of that gift.
If you have a million dollars in the bank and do not use it, it is useless to you, but you still own it.
The bible is indeed corrupted, but not as bad as you may think. I am a biblical greek major, trust me ;) it's still worth a read, even in English.
CONTEXT is key when reading any literature, when you keep this in mind most of the deceptive mistranslation falls to the side.

hope that helped. i didn't read the other replies.
