I am in a creative writing class at my community college, and we are supposed to be writing a descriptive comparison piece of poetry. This is what I came up with, anyone have constructive criticisms or ideas to make it better?

The words sealed inside
With a kiss straight from heaven
Its message will forever reside
As red letters lie like blood on the page

The verses within have severed lies
Their edge sharper than any blade
Parables shall open many eyes
As red letters lie like blood on the page

The accounts of many lives past
Their deeds done but not forgotten
Truthful tales that will forever last
As red letters lie like blood on the page

And then there was He
The ultimate sacrifice
Who gave His life for me
As red letters lie like blood on the page

Unique, and seems well though. Though I am not much of a poetry person so I don't know if the format is correct or anything like that.
