As a non-Catholic (Lent is part of Catholic dogma, yes?...), I've always wondered: when you give up something for Lent, are you giving it up just for that 40 days, or are you giving it up for good?
You are sacraficing something until the end of the lenten period (easter). For me however I am hoping that the monsters will be cut out for the rest of my life.

I'm sorry, I have to ask. What do you mean when you say you're giving up "monsters?"
By monsters I meant energy drinks in general. I was drinking about 3 a day. And figured it had to stop. So I figured, give them up for lent this way at least I have a reason to refuse them, and if I do drink one, its considered a sin. (at least in my eyes)

Sundays are considered a break in fasting, and a celebration of Jesus's prevailing over sin and death. Ofc it comes down to what you choose to give up, and how much it means to you. Remember that Lent is a period of mourning but also of hope...what you choose to give up is meaningful to you, and is seen accordingly in your God's eyes.

Monsters and video games are both things in which they did mean a lot to me. The monsters I am hoping after lent I will be able to stop drinking forever.
But my main questino was in terms of the "Is sunday a day that I am allowed to play video games?"
Edit:
Mezandria, Inoticed you said "A break from fasting". Does this mean fasting as in non eating for the period of time, or fasting from what you gave up. I always had this question but was unsure.
